What is Motoring Network?

The Motoring Network at optimal level is envisaged as major portal for a diversity of automotive activities, some commercial and some otherwise.

The Motoring Network editorial site you have entered here is a New Zealand web magazine developed around a desire to be a daily source of impartial, independent new car news stories and reviews, not just words but video too.

We’ll likely dabble in other auto-related editorial areas, too, but new car stuff is our main thing.

We’re not affiliated. We’re not advertorial. You won’t find manufacturer, distributor or dealer-paid fluff in our news sites. It’s all about the facts.

Obviously we could have let the reins slip on that one. So many content providers do and they’re not always the small fry, either and those who take the easy road will say we’re mad.

Yet even though the hard truth facing all publishing is that, when you giving away so much content for free, the money has to come from somewhere, it’s hard to sleep with a troubled conscience. We say quality attracts reward … crap just attracts flies.

So this is us. We’re out to inform. We also want to hear what you have to say. If you think we could better, don’t be shy. If you think we’ve occasionally written something half decent … well, it’d be nice to hear about that, too. But not too often. We already have massive egos.

We’re not saying we’re the best, though that’s an aspiration. New Zealand is lucky to have some great motoring writers – some, though rivals (damn their eyes), are my friends. We’re small and want to grow; that means adding talent. If you like what you see, drop a line. But blind to fault, eager-pleasing wasters needn’t bother: Motoring journalism is a great journey, but it’s about honesty. We’re not into taking readers for a ride.
